The Peterborough Music Hub works with many schools across the region and provides practical support and constructive advice on music provision within educational settings.

Kirsten Barr is the Peterborough Music Hub’s Schools’ co-ordinator and she can be contacted via kirsten.barr@peterborough.gov.uk.

Regular Music Coordinator’s meetings, an SEN Steering group, performance opportunities, instrument loan, whole class instrumental tuition, a registered music teacher scheme and CPD sessions are all offered through the Peterborough Music Hub across the year.


PETERBOROUGH MUSIC TEACHER SCHEME - 2016

Peterborough Music Hub operates a Music Teacher registration scheme.  The scheme enables the Hub to signpost schools to high quality, recommended instrumental and vocal teachers.

Primary/Junior Events 2016-17


Peterborough Music Hub/PHACE will seek to work closely with all Primary/Junior Schools and Academies over the next twelve months offering a wide programme of events and activities for young musicians and other creative individuals.

Banding Together

This project will encourage local Primary and Junior Schools, Special Schools and Academies to share performance opportunities and skills in a series of concerts and events, celebrating musical achievement and talent.

This special Showcase event will feature a programme of Music – alongside other artforms – to highlight excellence in Gifted and Talented programmes across all city schools.

New Youth Music Showcase Competition

Peterborough Music Hub/PHACE will once again work with partners at the Peterborough Music Festival to launch and deliver a great opportunity for the city’s young composers and writers. The competition will run as part of the 2017 Peterborough Music Festival. Further details will be posted on this site during the course of 2016.

Peterborough Music Hub/PHACE will lead on a series of events inspired by this year’s BBC Ten Pieces programme. Workshops and performances with professional musicians and other artists will provide great opportunities to develop creative responses across a range of art forms.

Peterborough Music Hub/PHACE will join forces with a host of Music Industry professionals to deliver series of Music Industry days at Secondary Schools and Academies.
Offering, relevant, practical advice on a range of music careers and associated industry skills the programme will culminate in a Music Industry Expo event at a city-centre venue.
